As many of our local customers will have read in the regional newspapers on the morning of Wednesday 12th June at around 9.40am, four men entered the shop armed with a large machete style knife, threatened the on duty staff and stole a number of items from our shop floor.
More details of the event can be found on The Star newspaper website.
South Yorkshire Police were at the scene within minutes having being alerted by the monitored alarm and CCTV system and are confident that the perpetrators will be caught due to forensic evidence collected shortly after the event.
Robinsons of Bawtry are in the process of implementing a number of security updates and procedures should anything like this happen again.
We are thankful that no one was hurt and that the items taken are all covered by our insurance, and are co-operating with police to bring the people responsible to justice.
Should the current lines of inquiry prove not to be successful high resolution CCTV images will be circulated in the hope of someone recognising the culprits.
A number of witnesses have already come forward but SY Police and Robinsons of Bawtry are still keen to speak with anyone that might have information about the individuals involved in this event and urge anyone to call the shop directly on 01302 711477, to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 283 of June 12 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
