It is time for us to get to know ‘Greenery’, the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2017. Actually, on second thoughts, we’re going to skip the garish yellow-green shade in favour of a far more wearable alternative.
When they weren’t busy deciding on the colour of the year, the clever Pantone team also analysed the collections shown at New York Fashion Week to decode which colours we would all be wearing come AW17. Whilst ‘Greenery’ pipped it to the post for the top spot, the rather virtuous sounding ‘Kale’ ranked ninth and it’s the colour we are calling out as our shade of the season.
Summer has only just started but autumn/winter’s hottest hue has already made its way to our rails. Kale, olive, khaki; call it what you will. The only thing that really matters is that you factor a shade of green into your outfits next season.
Michael Kors has opted for olive green for his new season styles and we can’t get enough of it. From the Finley Flounce Maxi and the Finley Flounce Ruffle Shirt with their petal print, to the utilitarian Cady Cargo Vest and the Michael Kors Four-Pocket Biker – a wardrobe classic upgraded for autumn/winter with a fresh new hue – the designer has the colour of the season covered.
