We’re big fans of the micro trend. Small enough to give our wardrobes a boost with a well-deserved little spending spree, yet capable of working with what we already have in there, the micro trend for shades sweet as ice cream is the little pick me up our wardrobes need as we move into the new season and start to think about throwing off our coats and adding some colour to our outfits.

Pink or blue isn’t just a question for the mums to be. It’s a dilemma we’re struck with when it comes to this bow-back dress by Boutique Moschino. The same classic cut with flirty detailing applies to each version but it’s a question of pretty in pink or beautiful in blue? Both designs have got springtime weddings written all over them but which hue will you be wearing when the snow clears and the occasion calls for something chic?

So far, 2018 has been the year of nostalgia. Britney is back – at Scarborough, no less – and Lionel Ritchie is set to be dancing on the ceiling somewhere in Chesterfield in the coming months. With the Spice Girls having made our 90s dreams come true with news of their long-awaited reunion too, the year is set to be heavy on the old school inspirations. One thing is for certain though; we’ll look a lot more stylish as we belt out Wannabe at the top of our lungs this time around, not a single platform or Union Jack mini dress in sight. This time around, we’ll be leaving Sporty’s skinny cami tops and tracksuit bottoms on the shelf and taking our 90s inspiration from Baby’s playful polka dot prints and Posh Spice’s love of classic cuts.

Boutique Moschino wasn’t around when Baby Spice last strutted the stage in her platforms but they’d have been a match made in heaven if it was. From the polka dot prints of their AW18 collections to the knitted bow back dress and the button detail boucle number that’s the star of their new season collection, Baby Spice-inspired looks are all grown up.

Posh Spice has proven her worth in the fashion world, recently toasting ten years of her own successful brand. When it comes to recreating Posh’s personal style, there are two ways to turn; MaxMara nails it with neutrals like the camel coat – a staple in her wardrobe season after season. Then there is the LBD. Posh couldn’t have made it through the 90s without one and the same can be said for your SS18. A good LBD never goes out of fashion so you will be wearing yours long after the Spice Girls have hung back up their dancing shoes. We love the square neckline and bow back detail on this simple, sophisticated shift. Just add sky-high heels and a deep wine lip and you’re good to go. Viva Forever to the LBD!

Touchy feely types will be all over one of next summer’s biggest trends. After the plush velvets and heavy satins of winter, the new season is taking texture to the extreme, layering linen, wool and lace with detailed floral appliques for ultra-feminine results.

Boutique Moschino lends a playful edge to any trend it turns its hand to and the designer’s take on texture juxtaposes clean, classic cuts with a little extra je ne sais quoi courtesy of frilled foliage. We’re pairing the knitted dress with flowered skirt with our ankle boots and our Michael Kors leather jacket for winter, and we’ll be switching things up in this amazing tie-back ruched top when we finally get around to booking some well-deserved winter sun.

You can shop next season’s trends now in store at Robinsons. We’re welcoming new spring/summer 18 arrivals to our rails every day, from Boutique Moschino and more of the most covetable designers around. Visit us today at DN10 6JH and start building your new season wardrobe today.

Polka dots are unashamedly feminine and the revival of this classic print on the autumn/winter 2017 catwalks has filtered down to the rails of Robinsons for the new season.

Enjoy your own dalliance with dots this winter in Boutique Moschino, the label’s designer Jeremy Scott famed for his tendency to create collections that are as playful as the print itself. The monochromatic looks may lend some Minnie Mouse connotations, but we offer nothing but encouragement when it comes to embracing a print that doesn’t take itself too seriously. After all, few of this season’s trends are quite so fun and frivolous.

Add a playful edge to your outerwear in this Boutique Moschino Embroidered Matelassé jacket, featuring embroidered white polka dots on a black background. The chic style is incredibly versatile; dress down for the weekend with dark denim and up for the office with cigarette trousers cropped at the ankle and worn with patent black courts.

Equally adorable in the print of the season is the Boutique Moschino Black Polka-Dot Bow Dress. With a shorter hemline to balance that pretty polka dot print, the black crepe dress with bow detail has a classic semi-fitted cut that makes it perfect for the office and smart evenings out. Polka dots are timeless and the subtle dotted detail on this little black number will slot straight into your wardrobe with ease.
