In our experience, the best way to make it through Blue Monday is to embrace the positives and for us, that means looking ahead to what we will be wearing in a few months and planning how we’ll make the trends work with what is already in our wardrobes.

Nothing excites us quite so much as the new arrivals to our rails, especially when they mark the start of shopping next season’s trends now. In the name of satisfying your thirst for fashion, and bringing some sunshine to your Blue Monday, here’s our guide to the trends you’ll be seeing more of in 2018.

Heirloom Jewels

It’s time to raid the family heirlooms, because next season’s accessories are big, bold, dripping with gemstones and enough to turn an outfit around in themselves. Never underestimate the power of a Soru statement earring in taking your jeans and tee from drab to fab. Make like the aristocracy and wear chandelier earrings on the most ordinary of days; you’ll be amazed at how a crystal or ten can put a spring in your step on a Monday morning.

Dark Denim

In recent seasons past, smart dark denim has found itself languishing in the back of our wardrobes, replaced with torn knees, raw hems and vintage washes, but no more. Indigo is back with a bang for SS18 and it’s all down to the Nineties obsession that swept the catwalks and kicked last season’s Seventies trend to the kerb. Our denim this summer will be dark indigo, perfectly tailored, and without a rip in sight. Jacob Cohen and True Religion’s darkest washes will do just the job.

Super Sheer

While we’re not entirely on board with the emerging trend for transparent plastic rain macs, sheer shirts in soft chiffons we can do. Unlike some of the examples seen on the catwalks last Fashion Week, Emporio Armani’s planet print shirt and Michael Kors’ star print versions are both just sheer enough to hint at what lies beneath, without breaking any decency laws.

OTT Heels

There is no room for boring shoes in 2018. With the world faced with another year of uncertainty, the fashion world is putting a smile on people’s faces the best way it knows how; with really amazing accessories. Court shoes are higher than ever, clad in velvet or satin, and bejewelled to within an inch of their lives. Juxtaposed with jeans they say ‘I know my fashion, but I like my comfort too’.

Spring Checks

We love to see a new season take on last season’s big trend. This time around, it is checks. Last year was all about the masculine checked blazer but we’re seeing a softer print for spring/summer, from girly gingham to bold picnic blanket prints on flirty dresses.

You can shop next season’s trends now at Robinsons, with new SS18 styles from Michael Kors, Emporio Armani, Boutique Moschino and more available in store now. Find us at DN10 6JH with FREE parking available right outside the store.

There is no easier way to elevate your outfits for little expense than with jewellery. At a time of year when gifting family and friends leaves your wishlist last in line, a little extra adornment has the power to breathe new life into your faithful favourites. Did we mention that a touch of sparkle never fails to impress on Christmas morning too?

Jewellery lifts your spirits and your look, and when it comes to making a statement, Soru Jewellery goes above and beyond. If you need further proof that the right accessories can see you through infinite events, take our most stylish royal; the Soru Double Pearl Earrings have taken HRH The Duchess of Cambridge from Wimbledon to black tie balls in Berlin and royal appointments at the Natural History Museum. We get the feeling Meghan Markle might be seeing something by Soru underneath the Christmas tree next week.

Sisters Francesca Kelly and Marianna Doyle grew up in Sicily, and the free-spirited Mediterranean lifestyle combined with the magpie tendencies of those glamorous Italians inspires each Soru collection. There is a tale behind these talismans too, with each item handcrafted from natural semi-precious stones and crystals with their own individual meaning and energy.

Add a little opulence to their Christmas Day or your festive outfits in baroque pearl and multi-faceted Swarovski crystal. With links to the moon and water, the gemstones are known to balance emotions. Stylish and soothing? We’re sold.

She’s spent hours on the sideline in the rain and she’s washed the muddy socks afterwards. She puts David Copperfield to shame with her abilities to magic a perfectly pressed outfit from the deepest, darkest depths of the wash basket in little more than an hour. She’s an unofficial and unpaid chauffer, cleaner, personal assistant and nanny.

Mum deserves a medal, but she’d prefer a Mulberry.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner – that’s Sunday 26th March, in case Mum usually takes care of the diary too – and we have plenty of gifts that’ll show the special lady in your life that all her hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed over the years.

Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but handbags come a very close second. We have classic styles from Mulberry, ESCADA, Versace and Michael Kors in store now, along with a great selection of purses, wallets and cosmetic pouches, too.

Jewellery lasts longer than flowers and it won’t throw mum’s diet off track quite like those chocolates will. After all, isn’t that what a huge Mothering Sunday roast dinner and dessert is for?

Natural semi-precious stones and crystals, such as ethereal moonstones, opals and bohemian turquoise, are carefully selected and set within solid silver to create Soru Jewellery, a brand loved by the likes of Kate Middleton, Fearne Cotton and countless other sartorially-savvy celebrity names. Alternatively, there’s jewellery by Versace, new in store at Robinsons.

Mum deserves the best. Visit Robinsons today to find a Mother’s Day present as special as she is.

Tis the season of combined goodwill and glitz, with the festive fun and frolics now well underway. The Christmas parties are in full swing, leading us to the season’s ultimate dilemma: how can you pull out all the stops in the glamour stakes when you’re short on time and you got a little spend-happy on the Christmas gifts?

One of the easiest ways to breathe new life into your faithful favourite little black dress is by incorporating some statement jewellery into your Christmas look. From statement earrings and a chic chignon, to a big bold statement necklace or bracelets piled upon your wrists; nothing freshens up an outfit like a bit of bling. Fortunately, Soru Jewellery has arrived at Robinsons just in time to transform last year’s New Year’s Eve outfit into something special to see in 2017.

Launched in 2013 by British-Sicilian sisters Francesca and Marianna (Soru means sisters in Sicilian), Soru takes natural semi-precious stones and crystals and sets them in solid silver. The result is a unique statement jewellery collection which has captured the attention of celebrities and royalty alike. Kate Middleton has worn pieces from Soru Jewellery on several royal engagements and stars including Rita Ora, Fearne Cotton, Little Mix and Georgia May Jagger have all been bejewelled by the brand’s natural gemstone jewellery.

Each piece in the Soru Jewellery collection is handmade with agates, moonstones, opals or turquoise, accented with Swarovski crystals and set into solid silver, each piece of jewellery embodying its own meaning and natural energy. With founder Francesca’s experience as a buyer in the jewellery industry and a mutual love for gemstones since a young age, the brand has based its ethos upon creating gorgeous pieces with hidden meaning.

Soru Jewellery makes the perfect gift for the girl with everything, so whether you’re shopping for yourself or someone special, visit Robinsons today to shop our brand new arrival this Christmas.
